Does Anyone Else Dig Them???

I just came across The Veros a few days ago. Wow! Man I need to get out more!! These Oi! folks are amazing. I found out that the are now called The New Chords. I love finding bands that I have never heard!!! I have been listening to all of their stuff and nothing else. Love them!

  1. One of my all-time faves, Ken. Great, simple sound...some don't like the vocal style, but I love everything they've done. Just wish there was more.

  2. Jay, I knew you would dig them. I found a bunch of stuff by them as well as the band Snix. To be honest, I really never rated bands that sung in English as a second language. Lame I know. Between The Veros, Perkele, The Cliche's, The Pennycocks I am beginning to realize that I was VERY wrong. I know some bands rock like Oxymoron, Discipline, and Vanilla Muffins but between The Veros, and Perkele I have a new found respect. Apparently The Veros have morphed into The New Chords and they are recording material. I posted a link to a video they have done covering The Ejected's Rock Star. Also, just for an fyi, Lars from Rancid has a new band called The Old Firm Casuals that I will bet, will rock. Nice!

  3. I have a 6 song demo by The New Chords that's been around for quite a while. The new music has been kinda slow in coming. Perkele, The Cliches, Pennycocks...all great. As far as French stuff, I'd also recommend checking out The Daltonz, The Janitors, Gonna Get Yours, The Headliners, just to name a few. I could go on for a while...ha ha. I saw The Old Firm's page on FB....I'll definitely check 'em out (when they record something). ;)

  4. Thanks for the heads up Jay, I will be looking into those bands. I am amazed that mainland Europe has more bands that play Oi! Better than where it originated from. London Diehards, Booze and Glory are two off of my tongue that are good. I mean new bands. Deadline rules, On File are a good band same goes for Retaliator, Loyalty and Bakers Dozen. I just want a band to come up and show their influences and inspire. So far I have not seen that. Yes I know there can only be one Blitz, Business, 4 Skins, etc. but the time is right. Hopefully someone like Lars who is a high profile person can help spark some interest. Now off to check on your reccomendations!!
