Killing Joke-Absolute Dissent

Holy shit! Where in the hell did this one come from??????? This has to be there best album since Nightime! Seriously, the guitars rage, Jaz' vocals are top notch and the playing is inspired. Please do yourself a favor and get this thing. I was very non committal on listening to this and boy was I wrong. This is awesome!!!!

  1. Couldn't agree more. I snatched this one a few weeks back and have enjoyed early and often since. It is easily my favorite since Extremities.

  3. I think their best since Night Time Topper. They have been pretty patchy since then. This one is quite good though. But really, their first 4 are way better!

  10. Hey thanks for that link Topper, and thanks Ken,I already got the album but enjoyed yr comments, which are spot on by the way..I stopped looking out for KJ releases after the first handful of L.P.'s too - even the recent so-called return to form failed to move me.I felt that their music had become more like the bands they had allegedly inspired- American heavy metal (call it by another name if you want), and less like Killing Joke. The Cure suffered the same fate but they're back to their best too.
But yeah love this new KJ album.

  12. I am surprised no one has mentioned "Hosannas from the Basement of Hell". That record is super raw and fucking brutal. It is like a death march through the sands of time. Truly relentless. Killing Joke is very much on their game.... cheers.
