An Omission! Perkele Forever

This is what happens when, #1 dismiss bands that you have never heard, and #2 are lame (like me!)

Look if I knew this existed in 2010 then this would have been easily my 2nd fave release of the year. Easily! Take all the good aspects of SLF, Pogues, Cocksparrer and you get Perkele. They are from Sweeden and have easliy become a firm fave! Do yourself a favor and please seek this out. This release is awesome!

  4. I've been listening to this all morning and I'm just not that enthused.
There's some good songs on it and plenty of good ideas, but to my ears it sounds like a band on a journey who haven't quite reached their destination yet.
The opening track is a band wanting to write a punk rock anthem, but who can't untangle themselves from the stereotypical restraints of the scene. Maybe english being a second language hasn't helped them achieve their aims either.
It gets better after that and the SLF Cocksparrer stamp is there, but at no point did I feel that wow factor.
Thankfully we don't all have to like the same stuff.

  6. I've got Perkele's stuff Ken and to be honest mate, this isn't up to their usual high standard in my opinion. Check out the 3 albums No Shame,Voice Of Anger and Stories From The Past and you'll see what I mean. Confront is also okay but not as good as the other 3.
