ATTENTION-THIS IS YOUR CAPTAIN SPEAKING

Well I took my external hardrive to the doctors today and the news was not good. I have to send it to another place to have my files extracted from it and transfered to a new external hardrive. What does that Mean for the fine readers of Days Of Our Youth? No new posts until my new external hardrive arrives. Sorry for this folks, and trust me, I did not want to spend $350 but I have to do what I have to do. So RIP my crappy hardrive and here's to hopping the next one works better.

  1. Thanks for checking out my blog - I added your link.

My HD died a few years back, and I suggest you try this before dumping $350+ for recovery. I used this & it worked for me:

$100 versus having them use it & charge you 3x plus..?

    Just a suggestion.

  2. $350 does seems a tad expensive Ken. 500 gig brand new ones are only £50-60 here.

  3. That is really pricey Kenny. I know Best Buy sells new hard drives in Canada for around $100.00 for a 500gb. That is only about $80.00 US. It shouldn't cost an extra $270.00 for recovery. Just a suggestion but I bought an extra hard drive just for backup in case one dies. It is well worth it.

    Good Luck

  4. $200 for the recovery then another $100-$130 for a 500 gig external hardrive done by Best Buy. They have to send it out to another place to have it done. It sucks!

  5. backup backup backup! Always worth it to continuously put things out to DVD disc ... yeah, those discs eventually die too, but not as fast as bloody hard drives.
When you get around to the (impatient) Youth post, do you have any bio info? I never got to see them live, but definitely saw their names on a lot of Mab flyers 1980-1981

  6. Well it is time to back up my new external hardrive with a cyber back up too. This sucks, but hey, I learned a lesson.

Dave, I am not too sure about anything with (Impatient) Youth. I just know that they were from Vallejo, released some great eps, played the Mab, moved to LA and put out another pretty good ep and then broke up in the 90's

  8. Had a Seagate, and to be honest, was really good. I tripped over the damn thing and killed it. That is the only one that I have used. I would buy it again. Hope that helps
