The Flower Leperds

Ok one more here before I call it a day. This one is quite cool. The Flower Leperds hail from LA and had been around a few years prior to ex-Adolescents Tony Cadena joining. They recorded a fantastic Ep for Mystic and then kind of went stale. Tony joins and Things Start Moving (an Adolescents song). This cd is a career round up from time that Tony joins them. If you like The Stooges and adding a little doomish goth/metalish stuff then this is for you. Me? Love it!!!

  3. Yep that would be their first ep that was released on Mystic. This comp. has Tony from The Adolescents singing on the songs. I actually think they were better with Tony than the original incarnation,

  5. This is FANTASTIC! I've been an Adolescents fan since the mid 80's. This FL release sounds like a transition from "Brats in Battalions" to "Balboa Fun Zone" Thanks for the excellent post!

  6. Thanks for this! I've dug these guys from way back! I think I may have had this and sold it. And just to clarify, Preacher's Confession (Get off your knees...) is not on the Mystic Super 7" EP. It is on the comp It Came From Slimy Valley along with Death of Two Lovers. IMO Those are better versions than the ones on this record, but thats probably a bias based on the fact that I heard them so many times and feel thats how they should sound. I think Tony and some of these guys went on to form The Abandoned after this?

  7. punkerjohn, I cannot agree more with the version of Preacher's Confession. The original Leperds version just kills, though Tony puts his trademark Darby'ish growl on this version. Tony was in the The Abandoned prior to The Flower Lepereds.
